Oxford Diecast
NZ$79.00 Each
The de Havilland Dragon Rapide was introduced in the 1930s as a passenger airliner. Shown here in British European Airways (BEA) livery. A twin engined aircraft with tapered wings and streamlined fairings, it proved to be fast and comfortable, and was a very successful commercial aircraft. The RAF used them for passenger and communications duties at the beginning of WW2 and, along with the Royal Navy, used slightly modified Rapides (known as Dominies) for radio and navigation training later in the war. A great wee model. Rotating props, and comes with a display stand. Approx. 14.5cm x 20cm (5.75" x 8")....

Californian Transocean Air Lines (TAL) operated from 1946 until 1960. The B-377 had military roots, being a development of the C-97 Stratofreighter and B-29 Superfortress. Built in 1949, then re-registered as N403Q in 1959, this luxury airliner featured pressurisation, and two passenger decks joined by a spiral staircase. On long flights the 377 could accommodate 28 upper and lower bunk units, earning it the name the "flying hotel". This is a classic post-war aircraft with equally classic 50's/60's style. Model has spinning props, rolling wheels, and landing gear can be displayed up or down. Gotta love the colour scheme!! Approx. 16.5cm x 21.5cm (6.5" x 8.5"). Comes with a display stand....
