US Navy 1962 Lockheed WV-2/EC-121 Warning Star, Point Mugu California, Pacific Missile Range. A military version of the Lockheed Constellation, fitted with radar and electronics for airborne early warning during the Cold War. 137890 was used for down-range missile tracking. These aircraft also provided airborne early warning during the scarey times of the Cold War and the Vietnam War (although not all were finished in this brilliant paint scheme).
