  • 1/18 1969 GT40 Mk 1 #6 Le Mans Winner
    Ford GT40 Mk 1 winner of the 1969 Le Mans 24-hour race. Driven by Belgian Jacky Ickxx and Brit Jackie Oliver, in one of the most exciting races in the event's history. Porsche were strong favourites to gain their first outright win, but Ickx and Oliver eventually took over the lead. The race ended in a 3-hour Ford versus Porsche sprint, with the #6 GT40 taking the chequered flag 120 metres ahead of the trailing Porsche. This was the first of Ickxx's six Le Mans victories.     Martini Racing 935/78 #43 piloted by Manfred Schurti and Rolf Stommelen. In 1978 Porsche went all-out with this ultimate 911 factory race car. Nicknamed 'Moby Dick' because of its extreme design, size, and huge overhangs. The turbocharged 3.2-litre six cranked out 845 horses, allowing speeds of up to 227mph (366km/h). Although it finished in 8th place, this monster became legendary. Metal diecast model with opening doors, and interior detail. Beastly good!

    The Jaguar Mark II 3.8 litre has been referred to as the Gentleman's Express. One of these was infamously used as a getaway car in the 1963 Great Train Robbery. Pursuing Police were outclassed by the Jag's speed and handling. Iconic Aussie racer Bob Jane won the 1962 Australian Touring Car Championship (now known as the V8 Supercars Championship) driving a 3.8 Mark II. He won the championship again in 1963, 1971, and 1972, on top of his Armstrong 500 (the forerunner of Bathurst) wins in 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1964. This is a great model for Bob Jane fans and Jaguar fans alike. All doors, bonnet, and boot open. Front wheels are posable. Limited Edition of 2000 pieces. Comes with a numbered certificate.     Lotus Elite Race Car. The Elite used fibreglass monocoque construction, with a load-bearing body (i.e. no actual chassis). Steel sub-frames, attached to the monocoque, supported the engine, suspension, doors, roll-cage, etc. It's true "Sports Car" shape gave it a very low drag coefficient of 0.29. The Elite raced in various GT Championships around the world, as well as Le Mans and the Nurburgring. It won its class six times at the Le Mans 24 hour, as well as two Index of Thermal Efficiency wins. Model has opening doors, bonnet, and boot. Approx. 25cm x 7.5cm x 6.5cm (8" x 3" x 2.5").
