It IS a Thunderbolt from the sky!! Republic P-47D Thunderbolt of Francis "Gabby" Gabreski 56th FG, 61st FS. Nicknamed the "Jug", "Juggernaut", and "T-bolt", the P-47 was heavily armed (4 x .50 calibre machine guns in each wing and could also carry 5" rockets or a 2,500 bomb payload) and heavily armoured (could take a lot of punishment and still keep flying). It performed a number of roles during WW2, including fighter, fighter bomber, and ground attack duties. An impressive 1/48 diecast model Hobby Master. Die-cast metal with some plastic. Cockpit slides open and pilot figure can be removed. Landing gear can be displayed up or down. What an awesome looking model.
