Boeing E-3D Sentry ZH101 of 8 Squadron RAF Waddington 2022. All-weather Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft (AWACS), with distinctive rotating radar dome above the fuselage. Derived from the Boeing 707, E-3D's were used by the US Air Force, NATO, RAF, French Air Force, and Royal Saudi Air Force. ZH101 was the first of the 7 RAF planes to be built and the last to be deployed on operational duty, serving from 1991 to 2022. The Sentry was involved in the first Gulf War as well as campaigns in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and the Balkans, and in countering drug-smuggling in the Caribbean.
