The Peterbilt 281 is a single drive axle tractor unit, produced from 1954 to 1976. Its narrow nose earned it the nickname "Needlenose". It was popular with truckers because of its superior visibility, and the easy engine access provided by its butterfly hood. Classic 1950's two tone blue/white livery, with flashy chrome bits. Diecast metal cab and chassis, with plastic parts. The rubber road wheels rotate, but are not posable. A great little classic big-truck model. Approx. 12cm x 4.5cm x 5.5cm (4.75" x 1.75" x 2.25"). Comes in an acrylic display case.
